Dozens of New Jersey school districts announced closures and delayed openings Friday due to the first snowstorm of the season with as much as 4 to 6 inches expected in some northern counties.
The National Weather Service issued winter weather advisories for Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties, in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Friday.
The totals of 4 to 6 inches of snow were expected in high-elevation areas of Passaic and Sussex counties, with 1 to 4 inches possible in Morris and Warren counties through Friday morning.
